May bioactive compounds from the olive fruit improve the postprandial insulin response in healthy adults?

چکیده
Scope. The postprandial effects of virgin olive oils (VOOs) enriched with phenolic compounds and triterpenes from the fruit on plasma glucose insulin (primary outcomes), gastrointestinal hormones responses were evaluated in healthy adults. Single doses (30 mL) three evaluated: optimized polyphenols-rich VOO (OVOO); functional oil (FOO): OVOO triterpene acids; low content polyphenols. Postprandial release was lower after intake FOO compared to VOO, while levels OVOO. Matsuda's index sensitivity improved OVOO, insulinogenic gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) tended improve enrichment VOOs bioactive increases its benefits, improving peripheral tissue sensitivity.

Food fried in extra-virgin olive oil improves postprandial insulin response in obese, insulin-resistant women.
The benefits of low glycemic load (GL) diets on clinical outcome in several metabolic and cardiovascular diseases have extensively been demonstrated. The GL of a meal can be affected by modulating the bioavailability of carbohydrates or by changing food preparation. We investigated the effect on plasma glucose and insulin response in lean and obese women of adding raw or fried extra-virgin oliv...
متن کاملPomegranate fruit ripening: nutritional and bioactive compounds
Pomegranate fruit undergoes several biochemical changes during growth and ripening on tree leading to the fruit to reach an optimal quality at full ripening stage. These changes are increase in sugar concentration (glucose and fructose), diminution in total acidity (citric and malic acids) and increase in anthocyanin concentration. In addition an increase occurs in antioxidant activity which re...
متن کاملMinor compounds of olive oil have postprandial anti-inflammatory effects.
High postprandial levels of TAG may further induce endothelial dysfunction and inflammation in subjects with high fasting levels of TAG, an effect that seems to be related to oxidative stress. The present study investigated whether minor compounds of olive oil with antioxidant activity decrease postprandial levels of soluble isoforms of intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (sICAM-1) and vascular c...

chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...
15 صفحه اولWithin-person variation in the postprandial lipemic response of healthy adults.
BACKGROUND The response to dietary fat plays a key role in metabolic health. Although this can vary widely between individuals, variation within an individual and the associated contribution of phenotypic and genotypic factors to this variation are less defined. OBJECTIVES The objectives were to quantify within-person variation in triacylglycerol response by means of a novel variation score (...
